Transportation

These are directions to the lodgings at South Hall on the Tufts University campus in Medford (not Boston).

From Logan Airport:

  • By Taxi: Exit your arrival gate and follow signs to ground transportation. Hail a taxi from the queue outside. Depending on traffic, the ride to the Tufts campus in Medford will cost over $50 and take about 30 minutes.
  • By Public Transportation:

    1. Exit your arrival gate and follow the airport’s signs to “ground transportation” and “the T”—the subway system. See the image on the right.
    2. Take the “SL1″ (Silver Line 1) bus to South Station.
    3. At South Station, transfer to the Red Line subway (in the direction of Alewife), and take it to Davis Square. Exit there.
    4. Once outside the Davis Square subway station, you are .6 miles from your accommodations at South Hall on the Tufts campus (at 30 Lower Campus Road).  You can either: walk this short route, which takes < 15 minutes (recommended); take a short cab ride, which takes a couple minutes and costs about $5; or you can take the bus. To walk: (a) go down Holland Street (passing Johnny D’s on your right), (b) Take a right on Wallace Street, which becomes Leonard Street after intersecting Broadway, (c) turn left on Powder House Boulevard, (d) Turn right on the footpath towards South Hall. Or, to take the bus from Davis Square to South Hall, get on the #94 or #96 bus and ask the driver to stop across from the Memorial Steps at Tufts University, just before the intersection of College and Boston Avenues. From there, walk South (away from the fields) on College Avenue, and then take a right on Lower Campus Road, where you’ll soon see South Hall on the left.

In total, public transit from Logan to Davis Square will cost < $4 and take about an hour. Click here to view a Google Map of the entire trip from Logan Airport To South Hall.
