About AquaPedia
AquaPedia is a collaborative online encyclopedia of water diplomacy case studies and water resource management issues. It is a project of the Water Diplomacy Program at Tufts University, designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among water professionals, researchers, and stakeholders worldwide.
Mission
AquaPedia aims to:
- Create a freely accessible database of water case studies with boundary crossing properties
- Document water conflicts and challenges, especially those that cross physical, sectoral, and political boundaries
- Provide a platform for collaborative analysis and discussion of water diplomacy issues
- Support evidence-based decision making in water resource management
What is Water Diplomacy?
Water diplomacy involves the use of diplomatic tools and processes to address water-related challenges, particularly in transboundary contexts. It encompasses:
- Conflict prevention and resolution in water management
- Negotiation of water sharing agreements
- Capacity building for water governance
